Solicitors, medical recruiters, construction consultants & financial advisors move to Pacific House
Posted on February 15, 2017
Gurney Harden Solicitors, financial advisors Moneysprite, construction advisors Reid Consulting and medical recruitment agency Care Direct are the latest businesses to take offices within Pacific House on Eastbourne’s Sovereign Harbour Innovation Park.
Moneysprite advises customers on mortgages, insurance, pensions and other investments without charging broker fees. Director Andy Fitzhugh had been running the Sussex arm of the business from the company’s London headquarters for three years before looking for Eastbourne premises.
Fitzhugh explains: “With customers across East Sussex, it made complete sense to find a base in the area and our new offices in Pacific House enable us to provide our clients with an all-important personal touch. It was vital for us to find the right premises at the right price. Pacific House gives us great, workable office space, while secure parking for our clients is a huge advantage. And it’s costing us 60% less than similar premises on Eastbourne High Street.”

Gurney Harden is a solicitors practice which specialises in family law, immigration, criminal defence, wills, probate, housing, employment and civil litigation.
The company originated in Ashford, Kent, and is now expanding across south-east England. It is opening offices in Eastbourne, Hastings and Chatham this spring, with staff growing from 40 to 70. It will move into Pacific House in March, ready for a contract with the Legal Aid Agency to provide criminal defence services from 1 April.
Director Andrew Gurney explains: “An Eastbourne branch is central to our expansion plans, enabling us to provide a high-quality service to the residents of this thriving south coast town. And Pacific house is in the perfect location here – with great transport links, parking, high-speed broadband and all the other amenities you’d expect from high-end offices.”

Reid Consulting is a multidisciplinary construction and property consultancy which has taken an office on the ground floor of Pacific House.
Manging Director Tracy Reid explains: “Our business is expanding and we need high-quality, easily accessible office space. We chose Pacific House as it’s well-positioned just off the A259 and A27. We benefit from being alongside other SMEs, while the surrounding facilities at the Harbour Retail Complex give us everything we need on our doorstep. And, unlike the town centre, we have adaptable working space, attractive lease terms and ample parking for staff and clients.”
Care Direct is one of the UK’s fastest growing medical staff recruitment agencies. The company helps NHS and private hospitals and clinics to hire agency doctors, nurses and care workers, with a 24/7 client staffing helpline. For more on Care Direct, visit www.caredirectrecruitment.co.uk.
About Pacific House: Developed by Sea Change Sussex, the building is a contemporary, three-floor business centre. With offices available from 627 sq ft upwards, it is suitable for small, medium and large companies.
The building incorporates a light-filled atrium, break-out areas for informal meetings and a conference room. It is designed to be a low-energy building and has parking spaces for 130 cars.
In addition to Pacific House, the Sovereign Harbour Innovation Park has development sites which can accommodate further premises up to 80,000 sq ft. Companies can commission Sea Change to develop bespoke freehold or leasehold properties for them or buy serviced sites to create their own.
The Innovation Park is designed to provide an economic boost to the area by providing high-quality premises and sites on previously disused land. It is three miles from Eastbourne town centre and five minutes’ walk to the cafes, restaurants and boutiques of Sovereign Harbour’s marina and retail park.
