Five more companies have taken offices within Pacific House on Eastbourne’s Sovereign Harbour Innovation Park, and an existing occupier has expanded to a third office, bringing our building’s occupancy level to around 90%.

Our latest tenants are DC Thomson Media – publisher of The Beano comic — Christian Copyright Licensing International, Spearpoint Consulting, Perspective (South East) and JarvisTech.

DC Thomson Media, a major UK publisher, has taken an office on the upper floor of Pacific House.

The company recently acquired Aceville Publishing, which had been based in The Boatshed in Eastbourne’s Sovereign Harbour and has been one of the UK’s fastest-growing independent publishers.

DC Thomson’s publications span newspapers and magazines focused on home, gardening, health, food, crafts, education, women’s, children’s and business interests. They include The Beano, which has entertained children since 1938, People’s Friend, which celebrates its 150th anniversary this year, My Weekly, Natural Health, Great British Food, Teach Primary, Nursery Business, Retail Packaging, What Franchise and Global Franchise.

With the company’s recent acquisition and ambitious growth plans, according to Sales Director Mark Forsyth, it moved its Eastbourne operation to Pacific House “to allow for our expansion in a first-class working environment”.

Christian Copyright Licensing International has taken a large office on the first floor of Pacific House for its UK Service Centre, which it is fitting out ready to move into in March. The company provides licences for organisations such as churches and schools to use songs, make copies and show films.

Jenny Coomber, Service Centre Manager, says: “We’ve been based in Eastbourne town centre for 20 years. Our move to Pacific House is part of an exciting new chapter for the company. The building is in a prime location — modern and bright with excellent facilities.”

Two financial services firms have also moved into the building.

Perspective (South East) has opted for a top-floor office. The company is a team of experienced Chartered Financial Planners, delivering a specialised service to individuals and businesses throughout south-east England. The firm, which was previously based in Eastbourne’s South Street, provides technical and research support to a growing team of experienced advisers in investment, tax planning, mortgage and pensions.

Director Mark Taylor explains: “We were approaching the end of our lease and looking for new offices that were modern, accessible and projected a professional image. Car parking was also high on our list as we often have clients visit to review their financial plans. Pacific House meets all these needs and, being on the outskirts of town, makes it much easier for us to visit our clients in their homes or offices.”

Spearpoint Consultants has taken a ground floor unit. The company is an independent firm of financial advisers who are able to access products across the whole marketplace. They assist customers with their financial needs from simple life assurance plans to mortgages, ISAs and multi-million-pound investment portfolios.

Computer provider JarvisTech has also let a ground floor office. Established in 1996, the company sells computer hardware, supplying overstocked current and penultimate models as well as ex-demo, refurbished and used equipment.

In addition, the Chestnut Tree House charity – which already had two ground floor offices in the building – has taken a third ground floor unit. Chestnut Tree House provides hospice care for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.

The charity first moved into Pacific House in 2016 to accommodate its East Sussex team of nurses, fundraisers and volunteers, expanding its work to reach more families, raise awareness of its work and attract new supporters.
